Workshop 1: 

Developing ideas:

This workshop was before any devising process as we needed to firstly introduce Complicité's style of work before creating a performance. I focused mostly on differentiating between different characters. The use of developing clearly distinct characters is important especially because we are short on performers and we need to suggest as many things as possible as carrying everything out literally would be too difficult and not efficient enough.
My peers were able to show clear differences in the characters towards the end because with the help of some music they were able to embody two different characters. Liberal and strict.
Having a motif for the actions is also important and when you keep Jacques Lecoq's techniques in mind you can simply just apply one of the stages or all of them to enhance the performance.
This workshop session helped us identify the 3 different characters we want in the performance and gave us an idea of how they would be, stylistically.
