Initiating A Theatre Education Project

  • Previous Experience:
I spoke with one of the previous students last year and they told me that students are very enticed by exaggerated characters and actions. By transforming into a new character that is not a human captures their attention more allows more creative thinking for them which leads to a more attentive audience member that will be able to remember and understand your motif behind the T.I.E.

  • Present Needs:
As we have limited our target audience to grade 4's (7-8 y'o), speaking to their teachers can help focus our performance on something they would want us to do.

  • Enthusiasm and Interests:
By choosing a well-known story or fairytale we can capture the attention of our audience whilst still being able to illustrate our point across to them in an easy and effective way.

  • Resources:
We would need to choose our props/costume/ resources carefully to make sure that they are within our reach and budget. We can do this by not going over-the-top with unnecessary items.

  • Progression and Continuity:
Will be taking notes all throughout lessons and updating blog to ensure development.

  • Assessment and Evaluation:
We can asses and evaluate the attention of the audience by having a Q&A session where we would ask the students about the play and pick some to answer. We can also go after a week to see if they actually learned from the play, instead of only enjoying it.

  • Special Educational Needs:
